Fellow

Timo Noetzel

Timo Noetzel is a Research Group Leader at the Centre of Excellence at Konstanz University. He is also a Fellow of the stiftung neue verantwortung, Berlin and Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Munich Security Conference. Previously, he was a TAPIR Fellow at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Berlin and Chatham House. From 2003-2006 he worked as a parliamentary aide in the German Bundestag. Over the last few years he has been a political advisor to the German army at ISAF Regional Command North, HQ ISAF and Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum. He authored articles on issues of  defence and security policy published in International Affairs, Survival, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Financial Times, among others. He received his BA (Hons) in European Politics from the Queen’s University, Belfast and his MPhil and DPhil in Politics from St Antony’s College, Oxford.
