Meron Hadero

Meron Hadero is a research analyst in the Office of the President for Global Development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the Derg (dictatorship). At two years old, she left the country with her family living briefly in East then West Germany before coming to the US. She spent the rest of her childhood in Iowa, New York, and Florida. Meron has had various opportunities to work on, as well as study issues in, human rights, international policy, and African affairs both in the US and abroad.  She is a dedicated writer (both non-fiction and fiction). In her free time, she also enjoys photography and hiking. Meron is a 2009 World Affairs Council Fellow. She holds a JD from Yale Law School (2007) and an AB from Princeton University (2001) in History with a certificate in American Studies.
