Arzu Hatakoy

Arzu Hatakoy is an Associate Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). At OCHA she serves as a Desk Officer for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and ensures the liaison between the OCHA DRC Country Office and Headquarters on DRC operations management and integrated mission planning. Before joining the UN, Arzu worked as a negotiation consultant at the Kennedy School Negotiation project and trained public and private sector clients on the Harvard Negotiation Concept in 2005 and 2006. During the same period, she served as a voluntary mediator in Boston, Massachusetts small claims courts through the Harvard Mediation Program. In addition, Arzu has prior experience in development consulting and as a researcher with various academic institutions. She holds a doctorate from the Free University of Berlin, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris.
